Luke Turns TWO!

I never dreamed that this tiny boy would bring our family so much happiness, but for two whole years he has been a complete joy each and every day. He smiles, and we all melt. He says something funny, and we all laugh. He squeezes our necks tight, and we wonder what we would ever have done without him? His general cuteness makes me happy each and every day.

Of course, our Lukie is not perfect. He makes the biggest messes I've ever seen. He is pretty clingy to mama sometimes. And he is starting to throw some pretty big tantrums. But when he smiles at me with those big brown eyes, all is forgiven. :)

And now our precious boy is TWO! He turned two on Friday, December 7, and we had fun things planned all day. First, a birthday breakfast. He loves blowing out "keendles" and was ready to take on his two...

After we celebrated with coffee cake, Luke got to open up his present...of course his sisters were quite eager to help him rip the paper.

It was a giant fire truck! He loved it. He was a little low on boy toys so this helped make up for that. :)

Luckily, Addie had the day off from school so we took Luke to Laurel Hills park to play.

A little chilly, but they didn't care!

We were excited because Poppy and Nana were coming to town for the big birthday celebration that night. They, along with Gigi and Pop Pop, were meeting us at Bad Daddy's for dinner. But on the way there, something bad happened. I got into a wreck. :( It happened on Glenwood, and it scared the kids and upset me very much. Luckily, no one was hurt and no damage was done to any of the cars involved, but it was not a good situation. Certainly not the way I wanted to start Luke's birthday dinner! We arrived to dinner okay, but a little shaky.

We moved on, enjoyed our giant burgers, and watched Luke blow out more keendles.

Oh, how we love this little boy! He is officially no longer our baby, but a sweet little toddler full of words and curiosity and movement. Can't wait to see what the year ahead brings for our Luke! Happy birthday, sweetheart!
