Big Boy

When I made an appointment to get Luke's hair cut, Alli encouraged me to "get some layers going on in there". Was she saying she that didn't like his adorable bowl cut?!?! Regardless, I tend to take my sister's advice when it comes to fashion and style, so I told his stylist to add some layers this time...

and THIS is what we ended up with! I almost cried because she aged my boy a good two years. I was not quite ready for this big boy cut, but once I got used to it I decided that my sister MIGHT have been right. He was definitely still the cutest boy in the world (especially when he tried on his new firefighter pajamas) but not quite as little as he was before.

Day Alone with Addie

Collins's "Day Alone" with Mom was a huge success. Now it was Addie girl's turn, and she picked out several fun activities for us to do together.

First, ice skating! (And she was pretty darn good at it.)

Then a "coffee" (hot chocolate) to warm up at Starbucks...

and last stop? Pullen Park!

We had a fabulous time hanging out just the two of us. Then to top off Addie's great day, she got to have Stewart come over for a playdate. Best day ever? Maybe!

A Wolfpack Birthday

It was a true Wolfpack birthday for Marty (and I suppose the grandkids liked it too) with dinner at the PR and then Howling Cow afterwards to celebrate our favorite Pop Pop!

A Day with Alice

All the kids were excited to have Alice come spend a summer day with us. We started with doughnuts of course...

then explored the science museum...

where Alice took a liking to Luke...

and Addie touched every scary animal she could. :)

Then we walked over where we got a cool behind-the-scenes tour of the Legislative Building.

Then the girls got eaten alive by mosquitos and sold lemonade in the sweltering heat,  but it was all worth it when they made some cold hard cash. Alice is always so fun to have around. It was a good day from start to finish!

Special Delivery

When you find a package on your doorstep and it contains your first ever school bookbag- that qualifies as a VERY special delivery! Addie was thrilled with her new bookbag for kindergarten. And it came just in time. School starts in two weeks!

Three Bear Acres

Three Bear Acres with the Moores has become a summer tradition! The kids always have a ball, get extremely dirty, and WEAR THEMSELVES OUT. It's a great summer activity and worth the drive all the way out to Creedmoor.
