The Toothless Wonder

How cute is she without teeth? They are falling out left and right for this little six-year-old!

Downtown Bike Ride

We took about one million bike rides during COVID. And to this day, if you suggest going on a bike ride my kids scream, "NO!" Clearly, I traumatized them, but there was seriously nothing else to do those days. But one day, Brian got creative and suggested his work parking garage as a new biking destination. Turns out it's pretty fun to zoom through a giant empty indoor paved lot...

then ride across a bridge...

weave through the government buildings...

take a tour of Dad's building...

and then finish up at the Capitol. It will eat up a couple hours doing the downtown government tour, and they actually enjoyed it. So a win, win for this creative bike ride!

Harry Potter Love

Collins definitely went through a Harry Potter phase in the 4th grade...racing through the books and the Lego sets!

A Little Break

COVID stress is high and a real thing. The kids are home all the time. The house is a complete disaster. Remote learning is really hard. And on this particular night no one had baths yet and everyone was out way past their bedtime and I honestly didn't even know what day it was. But for a little bit, we weren't worried about school or a pandemic or how dirty the house was- we were just focused on the "Key Lime Pies" (the girls) beating the "State Broncos" (the boys). And they did!

Obsession

The girls are obsessed with Barbies- I am obsessed with peonies. And it's time for my peony stalking to pay off. Because it's officially May and peony time! Look at the amazing flowers that bloom in my yard without me doing a DARN THING. Can you blame me for being slightly insane about them?

BFF's

So thankful our girls are so close...hope it's always the case!

New obsession- Barbie playing...they build these elaborate Barbie houses with random household objects and then imagine away with their dolls who become spies, princesses and bandits. It's funny because they can't get enough!

Do Not Try This at Home

This may seem like a good idea, but it's not! Our post-Easter smores experiment did not go over well with our Peeps lovers. Note to self...next year cram these in your mouth before lighting fire to them!

End of an Era

It was time. Time for the Tahoe to officially retire. When the speedometer, the odometer, the air conditioning and the heat no longer worked, that was a big hint that it was time. But Brian Fork chose to ignore those hints...for a long time! It was only when you could not open the backseat doors from the inside (for who knows what reason!) that he felt it was time. Because he reasoned, it could be an unsafe thing if our children became trapped in the car. There you go! So the decision was made to say goodbye to Mr. Tahoe...

and HELLO to our new truck! Brian had wanted a truck for a long time, and the one he chose was perfect for him. The kids were thrilled and so was he. Because when all your gadgets work and you can open the door from the inside, what more could you want?!?

A Bad Boo Boo

Look at that poor little face...I was inside working on a deep dish pizza when I heard him scream outside. And it was pretty loud so I knew it was bad. He had fallen off his bike right onto his face. Oh, Luke! It took him awhile to calm down, and I finally had to bring in the big guns to do it- Gatorade and brownies. The girls were SHOCKED that I would give him both of these items at once. But it did the trick. He calmed down long enough to eat and drink, and then he was okay. But it would take a few days to get this sweet little face back to normal.

But soon enough he was back at it...seeing the sunshine after the rain.

Making our Garden Grow

The kids were into helping Brian plant the summer garden more than they normally are. I'm guessing it's a COVID thing- not much else to do these days! Regardless, he appreciated the company and the extra help.

We will see how this garden grows!
