Third Grade Here She Comes

Doesn't she look every bit the smart, beautiful, mature third grader that she officially now is? Back to school for Miss Collins! And it was an easier pill to swallow this year because little sister would be joining her in just a few days. Collins has always struggled with her having to do all the schoolwork while Addie and Luke got to play. Even when we explained that she used to get to play all the time, it still doesn't seem to matter. But now that Addie will be doing the exact thing Collins does all day (except did you know that the kindergartners get out a whole 5 minutes earlier than the rest of the school?!?!?), we are hopeful that Collins will enjoy school more this year.

C got put in Mrs. Hames homeroom, and she will get to switch classes for the first time into Mrs. Schetter's English Language Arts class. This was a new and cool thing, but she was super disappointed when she found out that none of her close friend's were in her class. I texted other Moms and couldn't find anyone we knew in her class, and the only thing I found out about Mrs. Hames was one negative thing. So there was definitely some nerves (for her and me) going in that first day- how would this year go?

Turns out that Collins got a FABULOUS class and teacher. More to come on that, but she got put with a super nice group of girls and she ended up blossoming under the teaching style of Mrs. Hames.

So this smile is totally warranted, Collins. We can't wait to see all that you accomplish in 3rd grade!

No surprise that Collins and Reeves headed straight to their favorite tree after school...

and that Collins dug into her "First day of school" cake. It was a good first day!
