Winter

Winter is a challenging season for me and the girls. We can't be outside, don't see friends as much, and have to get creative indoors for what seems like months on end. Coats are a pain, an early sunset is no fun, and did I mention it's freezing all the time? I'll stop my complaints here because winter also comes with some fun moments. Here are a couple from the last few weeks...

Addie has become obsessed with the trampoline and jumping. She quickly figured out how to climb up, grab the bar and jump. It took a little longer to figure out how to slide herself off. Now our issue is having the girls take turns without things turning ugly!

Some days you just have to bundle up and get outside. The cold doesn't seem to bother Collins, but it's a little harder for Addie....

Mary Ruth shared a fun idea...tub painting. The girls were fascinated!

Thanks to a large order from Target online, I got some fun pillows and curtains for the house and Collins got an afternoon of boating! She's really into making things out of cardboard...

Comfort foods are the best, and Addie must agree because she can take out some waffles and pancakes...

This was one of the few seasonable days we've had this winter...probably the reason for the excited dancing! We had a fun play date at Lacy with our neighbors Margaret and McKay.

Collins really gets into arts and crafts, and I think this family portrait might be my favorite piece of hers yet!

It worked out well to enroll Collins in a Rookie Sports class at the Y this winter. She has "learned" how to play soccer, t-ball, and basketball in six short weeks! :) Go Purple Penquins!

Neighborhood walks are a favorite activity of ours, and we can do the short loop even if it's cold...

We got Collins a cardboard (Frozen) ice castle for her birthday. She and Addie both loved playing in it- especially this night. As they conspired against me, I would try to scare them and they would just shriek with delight. It was really neat watching them play as a duo.

Winter does have it's moments!
