Addie's (First) Birthday Celebration

Because Addie is a Christmas Eve baby, I have worried about how to properly celebrate her birthday since she was born. I didn't want her first birthday to be overlooked so I finally decided she should have two birthday parties instead of one (one in Raleigh, one in Hickory). After all, turning one is a big deal!!!

So we had our first birthday celebration with our Raleigh friends and family the week before Christmas. It was a Christmas-themed party that we tried to keep pretty low-keyed.

The guest of honor ready to go!

Pop Pop and Jack kept trading the Bronco head back and forth...

The kids made Christmas ornaments and played in the gingerbread house...

The photo props were a little TOO popular...should have forseen that there would be arguments over who got to wear what! Despite a few tears (Collins), the pix did turn out cute!

We all know Aunt Alli is our birthday cake maker, and she turned out another fabulous one for Addie's first. I loved this adorable and festive cake!

Cupcakes weren't so shabby either....

Because Addie is a big eater, I figured she would like cake. I was right! (Also, I love how she props her feet up on the tray in her highchair. Adorable.)

The older kids played "Pin the Carrot on the Snowman", and they all came pretty close....

These best friends are too cute (and silly)....

Party favors were these light-up bouncy balls. We were shopping for party supplies at Target one day, and Addie grabbed one and was entertained for the rest of the shopping trip. I was sold!

Gigi and Pop Pop got Addie this fun tractor that plays music. I loved seeing them play with it together!

Working hard on taking those steps...

After all the party guests had gone home and the girls were in bed, I enjoyed this pretty (and quiet!) moment..happy early birthday Addie! We love you!

  1. Many happy returns of the day Addie. Went for a black and white theme wedding of my colleague at one of the stylish NYC wedding venues last year. Food was amazing and decorations were out of the world. Welcome flowers created a pleasant aura and ambience for all guests.
