The girls took a winter clinic at the Raleigh Racquet Club, and did not really like it. They never really wanted to go to class, and I never really wanted to take them. It just wasn't super fun for some reason so when we found out we'd have to pay more for the next session, we looked elsewhere for a tennis class. And thank goodness we found Parks and Rec!
They have a really nice facility off Millbrook Road, and I signed the girls up for seven weeks of classes- twice a week. Once the time came to take these classes (May through June for 1 1/2 hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 - 6 p.m.), I thought that surely I had gone crazy when I signed them up. There was no way that they would willingly go play tennis this much in the summer heat.
But I was wrong! They loved their classes. They both had excellent teachers- especially Collins with Coach Nancy. They had a small number of fun kids in each of their classes, and they both got remarkably better over the course of the lessons. These pictures are just the start of the session, but both girls immediately enjoyed their lessons and never argued about going. And Luke loved running around the courts.
Win, win!
