Soccer Graduate

Luke's first attempt at organized sports was not pretty. There was crying and clinging and refusal to participate. But there was also smiles, and kicks, and listening to the coach. And playing with friends. AND a medal! So I will call the whole thing a success. :)

Coach Dom was a trooper. He slowly but surely got these 2-year-olds playing a loose form of soccer. He even got the boy who refused to score a goal all season to score one at the very end. It was a sweet moment.

It cracked me up when he taught them words like "confidence" and "respect", but who knows what stuck?

Luke received a certificate and medal at the end of the program...

and he was thrilled!

He was so proud he had to show his sister. And she understood the feeling- because Soccer Shots was her first medal too!

Too bad the class was only eight weeks because Luke was finally warming up to soccer at the end. Oh well, this can just be the jumping off point to many exciting athletic endeavors ahead!
