Yes, it's dirty and crowded and expensive and your kids beg you the entire time to buy junk (both food and plush). But come on...it's the State Fair!
Where else can you get an aerial view of Raleigh...
suspend yourself in the air...
eat naughty things you know you shouldn't...
(or even things you've never seen before)...
see baby chicks hatch...
and see all the night lights? Nowhere else except that weirdly wonderful fair every October in Raleigh. This year, we almost died on the Scrambler and didn't understand why we couldn't bring home the largest stuffed animal on the planet. But we still had a great time and will no doubt be back for more next year.
