In our old house, we had a downstairs hallway that served as a stage, ball field, performance hall and a general place to have fun. In our new house, we have a whole room. Our front room is empty- both because we can't afford to furnish it and also because we quickly realized it is valuable empty space. This room can be used for dancing, throwing a ball, scooting, yoga, ballet, singing, homework, games, exercising, and pretty much anything else you can think of. Our kids use it on a daily basis in many different ways.
Early on I had decorating this space high on my to-do list...and then I gave up that dream.
Because I realized this was much more important... :)
