The End of Preschool for Collins

And just like that, it was over. I'm still trying to wrap my brain around the fact that my baby has finished her preschool years and is ready to move on to kindergarten. She was definitely ready to move on to this next step. Me? Not so much.

I really have mourned the end of preschool for Collins for a long time. It started when I knew she would be going to the 4's class every day of the week this school year. It just made me realize that my time at home with Collins is dwindling. She did great going to school every day, and I truly think this decision will help her adjust to kindergarten better next year, but it was hard knowing she would be gone every day.

She had a great year in the 4's class. She made a lot of friends, got really close with her teacher Ms. Cartron, and became quite a bit more independent. We still had some anxiety issues that we dealt with, but overall she really grew quite a lot during this school year. She learned how to recognize and write her letters, she learned to love chapter books, and she figured out that she is both creative and able to build amazing things.

Here is Collins on her final day of preschool. She was all smiles, and I was doing fine until we said goodbye to Ms. Cartron, and she told Collins through tears that she knew she would be president of the universe one day. :)

Here is the final class photo for the 4's class:

And finally, getting nostalgic over how much she has grown throughout preschool....here is our sweet little girl on her first day at preschool in the 1's class at Ridge Road.

And her first day in the 2's class at The Raleigh School...

And finally, our big girl ready to take on the world in the 4's class...

Oh how she has grown these past four years into a smart, funny, sweet, creative, athletic, and kind person. These precious preschool years are over, and I have loved every moment of them. But I also can't wait to see what wonderful things happen for her as she takes on her next milestone: elementary school!
