Talking Tess

Kindergarten has a really cute Letterland parade every Fall to celebrate their learning of the Letterland characters. When Collins was in kindergarten, she chose to be Clever Cat for "C".

Now, it was Addie's turn to choose a letter, and she chose "T" for Talking Tess. Because who wouldn't want to play a character that gets to talk on her phone and wear a side ponytail?? Easy decision. So Mimi made her a huge T, and she put on her sassy boots and off she headed to school.

When we got to school, all the kids were lined up in order by their letter. Here's Harrison as "H"- Hatman Harry.

Finally we made it to the T's, and guess what? Our Addie was the only T in the whole kindergarten! (Except Ms. Rouse behind her). She was actually a little embarrassed that she was the only one, but we told her that made her special.

The hard part about being the only "T" was the stage part. Each kid had to go on stage with their letter group and say the object they had brought in that started with their letter. Most groups had 5-10 kids. Poor Addie was left to go on that stage all by herself. She definitely had jitters about it, but I was WAY impressed when she just did it and said "telephone" loud and clear for that big audience to hear. It was a daunting task for a kindergartner, but our girl nailed it. So proud of our Talking Tess!
