On Baby Watch

By the time December rolled around, we had been on baby watch for a long time. We just knew baby boy would come early. Turns out, we were wrong. So as the first days of December came and went, we continued on with our activities just waiting for my water to break or labor to begin- any sign that he was finally on his way. Nothing!

We thought he might come on December 3rd (my bday) but even a large lunch (and dessert) at Hayes Barton could not trigger contractions. Christmas parties Friday and Saturday night didn't budge him thank goodness (but I was convinced my water would break at the Brooks Pierce holiday party as I was meeting Brian's new co-workers for the first time).

We went on with Christmas decorating and the girls kept excitedly opening door after door of the Advent calendar, but no baby.

And then finally, we realized that this baby was in no hurry to leave his mama. He showed me what it felt like to be nine whole months pregnant (fyi it's not comfortable in any way) and to be completely ready to "do this"! We realized in a surprise move, he was going to come on his scheduled C-section date of December 7...

and that is exactly what he did! Get ready for birth story #3!
