I had the idea to start a neighborhood book club a long time ago. But never did anything about it until this summer. After our successful neighborhood progressive dinner, I was inspired to launch this idea. And it got a great response! We now have over 30 ladies (of all ages) who said they wanted to be a part of the book club.
We had the first meeting in August at our house. It was really fun talking to neighbors I see quite often, meeting some neighbors for the first time, and seeing the newest neighbors come out and connect with a great group of ladies who all love Blenheim so much. We shared stories of how we came to live here, what makes it so special, and we laughed. Oh, and the coolest part? We actually discussed the book! We had a great literary discussion on "The Light Between the Oceans"- a dramatic book about a lighthouse keeper in Australia.
All in all, the first Blenheim Book Club was a big success!
