Sweet Summertime

I have treasured this summer with all three of my kids. I think it's because I missed Collins so much when she was away at school this past year. It's just so nice to have her around all day. But it's also because there is time to make pancakes in the morning, time to sit around and invent things to do (build forts see below), time to play with friends, time to sit around in our pajamas all day, and time to enjoy just hanging out with each other. It really has been wonderful.

After several leisurely weeks, it was time for a little structure. Cue- dance camp! Addie's one request for a summer camp this year was to do dance camp WITH COLLINS. That part was very important. At this point in the summer, the girls had spent a lot of time together. It would have probably done them good to go in separate directions that week, but alas, more together time. :)

Turns out, it bonded them more. Collins was the oldest one in the class, and Addie had never done a camp before so Collins really took care of her and showed her the ropes. Addie did great in her first camp! Unfortunately, Collins got a little virus Thursday night and couldn't go to the last day of camp which happened to be recital day. I was worried that Addie would not want to go and perform without big sister there, but it didn't even faze her. She went and nailed those moves! I was so proud of her.

We have seen friends more than usual this summer which is great! Addie has played with Amelia (and Stormy the Ice Hog)...

and Tyler...and of course Collins and Reeves beg for a playdate every day!

 We have baked...

and braved the heat at the park...
and harvested our first tomato! Our cherry tomatoes have done much better than our big ones this summer.

But more than anything, we have relaxed at home watching shows...

dressing up...

and building forts ALL OVER THE HOUSE. Every blanket, pillow and chair has been drug out more times than I can count, and I have to say I am done with forts for awhile!

We have been very busy not being busy at all. Next up? Finishing up swim team!
