Christmas Morning Finally Comes

It must be hard to be four and to have no concept of time. Every night at bedtime, Collins would ask "Is Christmas morning tomorrow?". When the day finally came that I could answer YES- Christmas is when you wake up in the morning- what did she do?

She SLEPT IN! Really?!?

After we woke her up, she sprung to action pretty fast. I loved the look on their faces as she ran Addie over trying to see what Santa brought.

Here's what they saw...lots of pink!

Santa did good. Then it was time to open the presents under the tree. Collins loved her new book bag from us- a whimsical pink unicorn replaced her old blue owl. Always so fancy...

Addie made us a present at school. Could not have loved her little hand print ornament more!

We loved having Christmas morning at home. Then we headed over to Gigi and Pop Pop's for Christmas breakfast. It shouldn't have surprised me that both girls did not want to wear the Christmas outfits I had picked out for them- opting instead for their new dress-up outfits. Collins donned her fairy costume...

and Addie was a ballerina.

Donna made a delicious spread, and then we got busy with presents!

Donna and Marty gave both the girls new dolls that they loved...

Of course Addie had to try out Gigi's new yoga mat with one of her balance moves...

After breakfast, we headed home to pack up for the next leg of our Christmas celebration- Hickory! We headed to Hickory around lunchtime excited for the dinner party that awaited us at Mimi's house.

Collins tried to put as many of her new presents on her body at one time as possible. She dressed "Rosie" for the road trip in a fitting party dress.

The idea of driving three hours on Christmas Day doesn't sound very fun, but I have to say I enjoyed it. Collins watched a show, Addie napped, Brian listened to a book on tape, and I actually fell asleep! It was some needed moments of peace and quiet that we hadn't experienced in awhile.

It gave us plenty of energy for this to happen when we got to Mimi's house. :) On to the next celebration!
