The Amazing Race

Collins's current favorite show is the "Amazing Race"- the reality show that has been around forever where pairs of people compete in a scavenger hunt around the world following clues, doing challenges, and traveling to the most interesting places. I love it too! It teaches geography, culture, and strategy. So one hot summer morning when we had nothing to do, I suggested we complete our summer campus tour (we had already toured Duke and Carolina). It was State's turn, right? So we packed up the scooters and were just going to explore campus when all of a sudden we realized we could turn this outing into the "Amazing Race- NC State version".

After the belltower, they had to find the brickyard and then the library in the brickyard. Then they had to go to the card catalog and find a book about the belltower.

They got the book location, raced up to the 6th floor, and searched the stacks and finally found this old book about the belltower. Score! From here they raced through the graffiti tunnel to the metal wolves and had to climb the second highest one. Collins won this leg of the race.

Other challenges included finding the back entrance to the Howling Cow ice cream place, finding the most expensive item in the Wolfpack store, having your picture taken with Mr. and Mrs. Wuf in Reynolds, finding the letter of the last row in the stadium, etc. You get the picture. :)

They loved their amazing race! Plus they got some good exercise in and explored campus in a new and fun way. Addie asked me can they do the Amazing Race everytime they go to State's campus. Yes! This is the type of game I can totally get into.
