Collins has dreamt of starting a bakery for a long time. After getting her first official cake order from our neighbor, Betsy, I had the idea that she should really try to get a bakery business going over the summer. I asked her what she thought of this, and she said, "Mommy, I've wanted to do that for five summers now!" Well, okay then this summer it is!
So along with designing a new logo, she has been working on some new cake flavors. And that's how this lemon blueberry cake happened...can you believe how pretty this is?!? And it honestly tasted as good as it looked. I promoted it on Instagram, and people couldn't believe it.
The boys were impressed too...
I happened to have dinner with my covenant group the night after she made this cake, and I showed the girls the picture. My sweet friend Laura Kirby was blown away, and asked if Collins could make her son a birthday cake for tomorrow night?? That is how Collins's first official cake order happened this summer. Her goal is to get five orders. Here is the cake she made for Jack...vanilla cake with fudge frosting.
I promoted this cake on IG as well, and people went wild. This has led to order #2. I have no doubt she will reach her goal this summer, and I hope she sticks with this dream because I think our girl has some real talent. I'm so excited to watch her bake and shine!
