Mother's Day Tea

Cue the water works! The Mother's Day Tea at the preschool is no doubt the most precious of the annual events. And considering this is my girl's last year at the preschool, I knew I would be teary-eyed the whole time.

But look how excited she was! She had worked for week's on the Mother's Day Tea making special decorations for her classroom, creating a custom butterfly invitation for me, and practicing songs that she would sing in the big performance. But of course- all of these plans were top secret!

 Finally, the big day arrived...

Luke headed to his normal class, and Addie and I headed to the sanctuary for the performance.

Apparently, my girl is a performer because there seemed to be no nerves there!

She of course knew every line and hand motion and did exactly what she was supposed to do (Addie is our little rule follower- thank goodness for that!).

 

My favorite songs were "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" and "Little Red Box" ("I wish I had a little red box to put my Mommy in...I'd take her out and kiss, kiss, kiss, and put her back again"). What did I tell you? PRECIOUS!

The oldest class gets to ring the bells, and Addie was pretty proud of herself for doing it correctly. :)

 Then we headed to Addie's classroom for "tea"...she had my place all set! We ate cheese and crackers, fruit, and tiny desserts. We chatted with the other friends/Moms at the table about where everyone was going to Kindergarten next year. Hard to believe, but it's not far away at this point.

That morning meant so much to me. Addie was such a sweetheart the whole time and so proud to celebrate me. Not sure how I got so lucky to be her Mom.

And if that wasn't enough, I got to come home to this cute boy giving me a card he made. Can't ask much more cuteness than that.

 

My Mother's Day was already made, and the actual holiday wasn't until later that week!
