The Summer Winds Down

The girls and I had a wonderful Summer together. We were extremely lucky to go on three beach vacations, to spend time going to museums and parks and playing around Raleigh, and to simply hang out together around the house.

It was a little bit of a different Summer in that we didn't see friends as much as normal. So it was really just the three of us most days. I will treasure ordinary moments like this...

and this.

But I'm also glad we got to do some cool things like a "Frozen" dance camp and a soccer class...

and that we checked some items off of our Summer bucket list like taking Collins to eat at Amedeo's for the first time (we knew she would love this Wolf pack hangout). Summer is about having fun and trying new things. I think we accomplished both over the break!

As August came to a close, I began to get sad about Collins going back to school. She is going to school every morning this year. I just worried about how much Addie and I were going to miss this very important part of our trio. But then the fussing in the car became a problem, the interest in taking each other's toys became too frequent, and the yelling of "MOMMY!" happened too often than was necessary. It became pretty evident that we all needed a little break from each other. And so it was officially time for Summer to end...and time to go back to school! Goodbye Summer!
