Christmas with Poppy and Nana

We made it through Christmas, all breathed out a sigh of relief, and happily moved into a more low-key day and celebration with Poppy, Nana, Alli, and Sawyer. So excited to celebrate Christmas with them!

But first, we had to take a trolley ride...

Dad and Heather love staying at fun hotels when they are in Raleigh, and this visit they were staying at the modern AC Marriot. They liked it so much, they invited us over to give us a tour. There was a bubble on the rooftop deck, sleek decor, and a huge restaurant on the top floor. Collins was immediately sold and began planning her birthday party that would now happen at the AC Hotel. :)

Then we saw the North Hills trolley circling and got on for kicks, ate a tasty lunch at Yardhouse, and then headed to give Dad and Heather a tour of the new Wegmans. Trust me- it was worth seeing- plus we also needed supplies for our annual Cioppino Christmas dinner.

Back at home, Alli and Sawyer came over and we played Pictionary, looked at BHI real estate, watched HGTV, took a walk, ate tasty appetizers, and got ready for the main event!

We opened many fabulous, color-coordinated presents including robots, tennis lessons, puzzles, trucks, and so much more. It is always so fun seeing what's inside Poppy and Nana's pretty boxes!

Right about when it was time to serve the Cioppino, Sawyer decided he was ready to go home. We felt so bad, but Al could not stay for Christmas dinner and dessert. Such is life with a baby! I remember those days all too well. They headed back to Durham, and we enjoyed our tasty fish stew and called our last Christmas celebration a wrap!

It was the perfect way to end the holiday...a low-key day spent just hanging out doing fun things with the people you love. From start to finish, a very Merry Christmas 2019!
