Luke's Special Day at School

Luke's turn! After my birthday, Luke is next and our little boy was excited to celebrate turning 3 with his friends at school. His class is very boy-heavy, and they really like each other as you can see. :)

Tucker REALLY gets Luke going!

For his special birthday snack, Luke chose Howling Cow ice cream (shocker) and pirates booty and strawberries. His classmates were thrilled.

I cannot believe our precious boy is turning three. He is the cutest and sweetest thing I have ever laid my eyes on, and we cannot wait to fully celebrate him this weekend.

We love you, Luke!

New Trick

Caught in slow motion...so that's how you use a digger!

Little Event Planner

I love when I walk by the computer and find these gems on the screen...our little event planner dreams up quite the parties! Winter is one lucky doll to get a French dining experience, tacos, and perhaps a present or two. :)

So Many Leaves

Leaf war!!! Will the leaves ever stop coming down? The kids sure hope not.

A Comical Birthday

I always treat myself on my birthday. I think up a fun itinerary for the day and then commit to doing as little work as possible. On my 41st birthday, I had it all planned out. I would drop Luke at school and have three hours to spend any way I liked. First, I would get a massage, then I would treat myself to a fun peppermint mocha, and then go shopping and buy myself something pretty. After all I had some gift certificates that I needed to burn! Then later that night, Brian and I would have a date night at my favorite restaurant (Hayes Barton Cafe). Pretty easy to make all this happen, right?

WRONG! I got to my massage and found out that I had booked the massage at the wrong place. Not only could I not get my massage, I had to pay a fine for missing my scheduled appointment. Then I went shopping and could not find one thing I liked so went home with nothing. Then Brian and I went to Hayes Barton for dinner, and it was closed! Everything kept going wrong to the point that is was comical. But it was all good once we sat down at my second choice of restaurant- Trophy Pizza. It was not closed, and we had the tastiest beer and pizza that I had had in a long time. That, my kids being sweet to me, and a great date is about all I need to be happy on my birthday. Maybe next year I'll get that massage.

First Medal

Luke is an official medal owner! After admiring his sisters' medals for years, he was ready to earn one of his own and got that chance during his Soccer Shots class. Go Luke! You did great, buddy, and we are proud of you.

Getting Ready

Getting ready for Christmas is not an easy or quick process, but man it is a fun one. The kids get so excited to drag all those bins (I think we're up to 15 😆) out of the attic and slowly unveil all of our Christmas treasures. With each new box, there are squeals of excitement and then the red and green monster slowly starts to take over the house. Because before you can have a beautifully decorated holiday home, there is much work to be done.

1) Most important step- put out the Advent calendar! This is not as easy as it looks because it requires planning out our entire December calendar so I'll know what to put on each card. The days we are not doing some fun activity (like the tree lighting or gingerbread decorating), I have to find three tiny treasures that will fit inside the door. The kids are obsessed with opening the door each day so the pressure is on to make it good!

2. Unload all those tote bins and start putting things into place...

3. Buy your Christmas tree!

4. Set out all the stockings...

5. Decorate your Christmas tree...

6. Open up your Christmas jammies!

7. If you start early enough, you may even finish your work in time to go to a "Hanging of the Greens" service at church with your girlies...

8. Finally, get cozy in your new jammies, admire all the twinkling lights, and get ready for the magic of the season to unfold.
