Masked Up

It was the first time for the kids had to wear a mask in public. Little did we know that this new mask mandate would become a normal thing for the unforeseeable future. It broke my heart a little to make my kids put on a mask. I knew it was for their own safety (and others), but it seemed like a hard thing to ask of them. Here's Addie at JJ's Kids Cuts wearing hers improperly! They would soon learn that it had to go over the nose, but we were still learning at this point.

Of course our Addie had to take her mask-wearing one step further...lol.

How Does Your Garden Grow?

NOT WELL! But we give it a try every summer and hope desperately for a different result. Here we are early in the game when Luke still thinks we might be able to grow our own food. Fingers crossed, Luke!

Campus Exploration

We are lucky we live so close to NC State. It's a great campus to explore either by land...

or tree!

And we can always get them to go because there's a chance that they might get Howling Cow ice cream!

Firetruck Obsession

The firetruck obsession is real. I'm talking multiple fire engines, the outfit, the boots, some firetruck books, and a steady stream of firetruck conversation thrown in there too. If Luke disappears, there's a good chance you'll find him in the playroom just like this...

Wrightsville Beach Break

I am so far behind in blogging, I don't remember details of this Wrightsville Beach trip. I know we went over Memorial Day 2020, and I remember being shocked at how many people were on the beach right in the middle of the COVID outbreak. But I guess we were just as bad as the rest of them venturing out to have fun when you were supposed to be quarantined indoors. We kept our distance from others there, but I do remember how it was like COVID didn't exist at the beach. People weren't wearing masks or keeping their distances- SO different from Raleigh. Apparently the relaxed beach lifestyle can't be bothered by a pandemic!

Since I can't remember specifics from this trip, I'll just let the pictures do the talking...

It was so nice to get away and for moments- to forget about the Coronavirus. We all needed a weekend to float away from our problems- be it on a swan, a unicorn or a boat! Thankful for some good beach time.
