Brian is our master gardener and Collins is his special assistant. They both take their jobs seriously and have worked very hard to make our garden grow. They are in charge of watering and picking and keeping a close eye on things. I have often heard Collins yell, "Come look at this!" as she has found something good or bad happening in the garden.
Our first yield was green beans from the plant Collins planted herself. She was pretty proud of herself!
Addie enjoys helping when water is involved (and she can do it dressed in princess gear)...
Collins, of course, also gets fancy for her gardening. And sometimes, they even work together!
Brian had the great idea to create a new herb garden this year. He created it farther down the driveway in a space that used to be all weeds. Now look at it! It's both functional and pretty. He and Collins gathered rocks from the creek and made a border around it. It's our sunniest spot in the yard so we have hopes that it will be successful. So far, the basil and parsley are doing great!
