In Her Own Little World
One of my new favorite things to do is to spy on Collins in her crib after she has woken up in the morning or after a nap. I hear the rustling and rolling and babbling over the baby moniter and sneak up to her room and peak in the door. This is what I find...

Apple Day
Had to check out Apple Day today at the Farmer's Market. With Fall officially arriving tomorrow, what a fun way to welcome in our favorite season. It was a tad warm and a little crazy with kids running everywhere, but there were apple samples and pumpkins galore. And could there be a better backdrop to photograph a cute baby wearing overalls?

Humor Me...
With another set of veggie-all-over-the-face pictures. I just think they are hilarious. I'm sure my fascination with Collins trying new foods will wane at some point, but I'm not there yet. Here we are at peas. She loved them from bite one. Maybe her interest in peas will help convert her Daddy? Doubtful.

Hickory Weekend
We took a trip West on the interstate on Friday to visit the Grandparents and to enjoy some time in Hickory. We hit up two of Hickory's finest on Friday with Dad- the Bernhardt Furniture Outlet and our fave restaurant Backstreets. And then on Saturday, we sat on Mom's deck and enjoyed the beautiful weather and some quality time with Baba.
We also had the chance to say goodbye to Harry, Mom's father-in-law. We saw him on Saturday and he passed away on Sunday. Harry was a very interesting man- super smart, a fascinating dinner conversationalist, a snappy dresser, and someone who never failed to make us laugh. He will be missed.

Let the Games Begin
Football season is officially upon us, and it's like Christmas come early in my household. And when I say early- I mean 3 a.m. because that's what time Brian got up on Saturday morning to start smoking the BBQ. Yes, when I wake up on a Saturday morning to the smell of smoke infiltrating the house and spreading across the neighborhood, I know it's time for some football!
Collins has been preparing for football season now for a couple of months, acquiring the necessary outfits/hats and tailgating chair. Too bad we didn't think to bring a massive fan remembering that there isn't a hotter day all year than the first football game. It was scorching yesterday, and we used ice cubes in all kinds of tricky ways to cool ourselves off. The poor baby was so hot that Donna had the bright idea to soak one of Collins' bibs in the water from the cooler and drape it over her head to cool her off. It worked!
Even though Collins' first tailgate was a red and white affair, she had a good time and here are the pictures to prove it.
Hanging out with her Aunt...
The appetizer...
And the main course was three of these things!
Look at those red cheeks...
And our attempt to cool her off with the bib-on-the-head method...
