I could not believe it standing there looking at the scales. We went back to the doctor for another weight check this week, and although we all thought Collins had filled out some since last week, we would never guessed that she could have gained 21 oz in 8 days! The formula worked its magic. Last week she weighed 9 lbs. This week she weighed 10 lbs 5 oz! I feel badly that she obviously wasn't getting the nutrients she needed from me, but am thankful that she is back on track and now growing like a weed!
As she continues to fill out, she gets cuter by the day. This new chunkiness is not only adorable, but it has finally moved her out of newborn clothes and into her 0-3 months wardrobe. Yah for new outfits!
Bath time provided us with some good proof of the new chunkiness factor:

I'm the Lucky One
I was very excited to celebrate my first Mother's Day this past Sunday. Brian took the baby early on and let me sleep an extra hour which is about the best gift I could get these days. Then he and Collins went to Panera and got me a huge coffee and muffin, followed by a trip to the farmer's market to pick out some plants. These small things made me very happy, but throughout the day I kept thinking- I am the lucky one. I am so incredibly lucky to have this healthy baby girl and to have the chance to be a Mom. I'm going to try hard to never take this experience for granted because I have already learned in three short months that being a Mom is the coolest, most challenging and scary, special thing I have ever done.
Daddy Dressed Me
When Daddy goes into the closet, there is no telling what might come out. A recent example:

Weight Check
So an update on C's weight gain (or lack there of). We went back to the doctor on Tuesday, one week from our last appointment, and Collins had only gained 1 ounce. It's not good when the pediatrician walks into the exam room with a frown on her face. We all decided nursing exclusively is not working so we are now supplementing with formula. So far she seems to like it fine so we are hopeful the pounds are coming! She already feels heavier to me, but its probably just wishful thinking at this point! I will keep you all updated...
